About Bumba Sauce
Our Inspiration
My name is Simone Shaw, and I am a proud native of Guyana in the Caribbean. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Houston. I earned my degree in Hospitality Management from New York City Technical College and completed my culinary training at the International Culinary Center (formerly The French Culinary Institute).
As a child, I loved watching and helping my mother in the kitchen. Under her guidance, I began making pickled mango, tamarind balls, and fudge to sell at school during lunch. After moving to Houston, I found it challenging to find quality pepper sauce, so I decided to create my own at home. Inspired by my daughter Nia, I launched my sauce company to share the heat and flavors that I’ve crafted for my family.
Food and entrepreneurship are in my DNA, and I am excited to share my passion with others!
